Gloria’s heart is broken, her only love lost.
When Simon left the Amish community of Faith’s Creek he told Gloria he would be back, and that they would always be together. Believing in her love she waited for a sign, a letter, anything and she remained alone. Now she believes she is too old to court and she lives for her job as a fashion designer. Fate brings them back together, but Simon is engaged and Gloria is to design his fiancees wedding dress.
Is this God’s plan for her? Is she destined to be heart broken and alone or will seeing Simon again free her to find a new love?
“For a long time God and I did not see eye to eye, but I realized I was only hurting myself keeping him from my life.”
Simon feels betrayed but seeing Gloria brings back all his old feelings and he knows he never stopped loving her. What can he do? He is engaged and Gloria won’t even speak to him?
One night he sees her working late. “It was as if being this close to Gloria and an end to all his heartache had given him a fever. In the back of the shop, she worked beneath a gas-lamp. It formed a halo around her head and made her look heavenly to his weary eyes. Was this a sign that he was doing the right thing, or just his imagination running wild?”
This is a tale of betrayal, lost love and new beginnings. Can faith and forgiveness bring two people together and heal hearts that have been broken?
